La Fiera di San Giovanni is the most important event of Spilamberto. It takes place every year at the turn of 24 June, the festival of San Giovanni Battista, the patron saint of the town. The typical local products and activities of the numerous local associations, which take part in the event every year are also celebrated during the event, along with the Municipal Administration.
The Fiera di San Giovanni welcomes thousands of visitors interested in the exhibition of agricultural, artisanal and local industry products. Shows, sports competitions, exhibitions, children’s workshops, the flea market of via Obici and refreshment points to taste the typical cuisine are also included in the program.
Part of the Fiera di San Giovanni is also dedicated to animal welfare with initiatives and activities to discover conventional and unconventional animals close up in the Parco della Rocca. To conclude is the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena event, which is proving to be more and more awaited and followed. In fact, during the Fair, the members of the Consortia hold an annual meeting and assign the Palio di San Giovanni to the best family-produced Balsamic.
