Acetaia Boni

Located in a rich land, the farm Boni Romano is a Vinegar Cellar and a permanent exhibition, sales the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena and local products and offers the possibility of tasting them in typical modenese settings

Acetaia Boni is located, along with its secular tradition, in the first hill of Modena in Solignano di Castelvetro. At the beginning of the last century, grandfather Arturo started taking lovely care of wooden barrels destined to the production of the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena in his vinegar cellar in Castelvetro. In the later decades, generation after generation, new batteries have been added to create a huge collection of unique and special fragrances and tastes. There are many varieties of Balsamic Vinegars that differ one from the other because of the age and aromas. Indeed, apart from Balsamic Vinegars aged in casks made with commonly used woods, Acetaia Boni offers precious products aged in casks made of special local and now rare woods. The visitor, inebriated by balsamic fragrances and tastes, will dive into the ancient world of the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar and of the rural society, visiting the richer permanent exhibition of unique and rare objects belonging to the modenese world, starting from the 16th century. Ancient terracotta containers (tragni and zuccotti, symbols of the Balsamic Vinegar), modenese glasses and wooden instruments, objects from the rural and domestic life have shown in the huge collection. The tourist will find a unique setting which holds the ancient world of the modenese life, with the passion, love and enthusiasm of the ones always ready to welcome visitors from all over the world to share the great art of Balsamic Vinegar.
