Un pozzo leggendario riemerso dal passato
The Pozzo Ritrovato of Castelnuovo Rangone has its roots in an ancient legend. It is said that there once was a well in the centre of the village, but nobody knew where it was. With restoration works in the historic centre, that exact well resurfaced from the excavations and now stands prominently in the centre of Via Roma.
A sculpture by Italo Bortolotti has been placed there in the shape of a circle divided into four sectors by a large cross. Each one of the sectors symbolises the spirit, religion, nature and life of the village.
