Un raro esempio di cimitero napoleonico
Campo San Rocco is the former Napoleonic cemetery located closely to the Castle of Levizzano Rangone and its Matildic Tower. Its construction dates to the early nineteenth century when the Italian area was under the rule of Napoleon. In this period the Saint-Cloud edict was promulgated, which foresaw that the cemeteries were moved outside the town walls for better hygiene reasons. Campo San Rocco is one of the very few examples remaining today.
