Terre di Castelli. A strip of hills that from the last slopes of Pianura unroll to the first ridges of the Apennines,
located in the Province of Modena on the border with the province of Bologna.
The area covers the territory of eight towns, members of the Terre di Castelli Union.
Each one has its own particularities, but all are rich in cultural, scenic and gastronomic resources.
The common thread that unites the stories of these places are the Castles:
ancient settlements, medieval strongholds built as a garrison, due the proximity of the "rival" Bologna.
Some are still open and well preserved. Other are more ruined, but they are still an historical testimony and keep the romantic heart of charming historic villages.
Many of them, are enriched by a priceless view of the hills.
