CITIES OF TERRE DI CASTELLI

Eight towns, eight realities, one land to be discovered.

Terre di CastelliA strip of hills that from the last slopeof Pianura unroll to the first ridges of the Apennines

located in the Province of Modena on the border with the province of Bologna.

The area covers the territory of eight towns, members of the Terre di Castelli Union.

Each one has its own particularities, but all are rich in cultural, scenic and gastronomic resources

The common thread that unites the stories of these places are the Castles

ancient settlements, medieval strongholds built as a garrison, due the proximity of the "rival" Bologna.

Some are still open and well preserved. Other are more ruined, but they are still an historical testimony and keep the romantic heart of charming historic villages.

Many of them, are enriched by a priceless view of the hills.

A strategic territory, with an enviable position that has dictated their history: today, Terre di Castelli are the privileged point to discover a hilly area full of surprises, but also to reach cities of consolidated fame like Modena and Bologna.

Visiting Terre di Castelli means to make a real journey into taste, discovering an enogastronomy as varied as it is unique.

It means being immersed in nature: hills, vineyards, protected natural areas, particular geological phenomena, all connected by a network of paths and itineraries.

It means going back in time through the history of the monuments that still dot villages, towns and cities.
