Ducato Estense Coast to Coast is a cycle-pedestrian itinerary designed and developed by the 'Compagnia dei Merli' association to promote environmentally friendly tourism in a historical and cultural context characterised by the dominion of the Duchy of Este. The Este family, one of the oldest in Italy, ruled for a long time a territory that, at its widest, stretched from Polesine to Garfagnana. The route we have devised aims to reconnect all those territories that once belonged to the Duchy of Este through a historical, cultural and geographical common thread.
