On the first days of June, in odd-numbered years, the historic centre of Castelvetro di Modena becomes the stage for Mercurdo, the unmissable appointment with the ‘Mercato dell'Assurdo’ (Market of the Absurd) that brings a parallel world of fantasy and wonder to the town.
The streets of the centre are transformed into a place of creativity, where you can lose yourself in surreal atmospheres, unusual performances, visionary installations and fantastic characters, in a merry-go-round of proposals involving all art forms. Theatre, music, performing arts, circus disciplines and installations create at Mercurdo a special mix that has made this event unique.
Each edition features great artists (national and international) who will engage the public with the most unexpected, bizarre and involving proposals. In addition, the streets of the village will be animated by the thematic market with curious and original artistic handicrafts.
‘Mercurdino’ is for small children, an afternoon event where the most beautiful stories will come to life.
