Historical re-enactment of the birth of the Borlengo
During the first weekend in May, various historical re-enactment associations will stage a reconstruction of the siege of Montevallaro Castle, during which the Borlengo was born. Over the two days of the event, the siege will be staged twice, interspersed with archery practice for adults and children and the performance of period dances. Over the course of the two days, the reenactors will stay in a camp set up at the Guiglia Castle where visitors will be able to watch demonstrations of ancient crafts.
On Saturday evening, there will be a dinner, and on Sunday, a lunch, both by reservation only and with limited seating, organised by the Pro Loco (association promoting local culture and tourism) of Guiglia. These two occasions will allow you to enjoy a medieval menu specially designed for the event, which will take the palate back to the flavours of the Middle Ages, naturally including ‘His Majesty’ the Borlengo.
Everything will take place in the evocative setting of the inner courtyard of the castle, decorated with a medieval theme, and with reenactors providing entertainment.
