An imaginative display of over 70 nativity scenes placed in the most characteristic corners of the village.
The atmosphere of Christmas comes to life in Montalbano di Zocca, a small ancient village of rare charm, which has preserved intact the charm of the fortress, the ups and downs of the alleyways, and the eighteenth-century church, with its graceful rectory, over which the seventeenth-century bell tower stands.
Montalbano, a small village only about 3 km from Zocca (MO), is known as the village 'of the sloping land' and in fact its houses climb almost vertically to the south face of Monte della Riva. During the Christmas period, Montalbano di Zocca is the evocative setting of Segui la stella nel Borgo dei Presepi (Follow the Star in the Village of Nativity Scenes): an imaginative display of more than 70 cribs placed in the most charming and characteristic corners of the village. The display is open every day.
On holiday afternoons, mulled wine and sweets are offered in this Christmas atmosphere, and it is possible to visit the Christmas Market. On some public holidays, the 'Corte dei Sapori’ (Court of Flavours) also takes place: the market of food and wine excellence with typical local products set up at Villa Cavola. The event is organised by the 'Compagnia del Borgo di Montalbano' Cultural Association.
