Appointment dedicated to the rediscovery of local traditions and flavours.
On the second weekend of October, Autumn in Vignola returns, the appointment with the taste and typical products of the local territory, full of events and surprises.
The historical re-enactment
The winds of war blew at the beginning of the 14th century in the Vignola of Uguccione and the numerous nearby castles, as far as the mountains of Frignano. Several important families confront each other in the shadow of power of the House of Este: the Contrari, Rangoni and Montecuccoli on the one side and the Da Savignano and Malatigni on the other. A difficult mediation is attempted, but the rumble of drums announcing a storm can already be heard in the distance... Two days suspended between peace and war, not to be missed for those who wish to plunge into swords, shields, halberds, encampments, flags and music of bygone times, amidst shows, historical re-enactments and ancient recipes. You will travel through a Vignola that you will not recognise, yet all to experience.
The programme
On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October, the food courts in the centre of Vignola will be open for both lunch and dinner, with traditional dishes, sales of local products and tastings of traditional balsamic vinegar.
On the same days, Vignola will be the scene of an incredible historical re-enactment with a medieval encampment, fighting, dancing and music.
